Lotus Festival Parade Finale
Chicago’s EE: Magic Circus Marching Band takes everyone on a parade adventure on Kirkwood Avenue and 4th Street. The parade also has some special guests from the local scene:
IU’s Brazilian Percussion Ensemble will join the parade, escorted by a troupe of samba dancers. Organized by Anita DeCastro and directed by Michael Spiro, the collective focuses on music of the large “bateria” percussion ensembles of Brazil, especially Samba Batucada from Rio de Janeiro, Candomble and Axe music from Bahia, and Maracatu from Recife.
And keep an eye out for the Bloomington Quarry Morris Dancers and members of the Hudsuckers hooping group and the Bleeding Heartland Roller Girls
