This Polish band lives and makes music as a family. Founded in 1997 in Szczecin, by accordion player Anna Witczak, Dikanda has woven a unique, original sound from the Gypsy music of Macedonian and Romanian cultures in the Balkans, as well as cultures further east. You’ll recognize the swirling, passionate Balkan rhythms, and discover something new and unexpected. Sponsored in part by the Polish Cultural Institute in New York; IU Russian & East European Institute; Women of Lotus; IU Polish Studies Center
