Melody of China is a non-profit organization and Chinese music ensemble based in the San Francisco Bay Area.The ensemble promotes Chinese classical, folk, and contemporary music, and looks for the synergy between an ancient cultural tradition and youthful American culture. Melody of China performs concerts as well as educational programs for all ages, introducing audiences to the instrumentation and artistry of Chinese music. Get a close look at yangqin (hammered dulcimer), sheng (mouth organ), ruan (moon guitar), and other instruments when the group holds a workshop at Lotus in the Park on Saturday.
