Founding members of “post-apocalyptic-string band” the Mammals, Mike + Ruthy have refined their sound as a duo, playing lyrically sophisticated Americana music — both original compositions and great covers of contemporary and traditional American folk. Their sound is soulful and timeless, and their harmonies are pitch perfect. We’re proud to designate Mike + Ruthy this year’s Lotus Dickey Artist, honoring the memory of Indiana musician Lotus Dickey (1911-1989), who wrote songs from the heart that still speak to people of all ages and walks of life.
