The JUNO-nominated Orchid Ensemble is Lan Tung on the erhu (Chinese violin), Yu-Chen Wang on the zheng (Chinese zither), and Jonathan Bernard on percussion. The ensemble blends ancient musical instruments and traditions from China and other cultures, creating beautiful new sounds. The trio draws inspiration from traditional and contemporary music of China, from jazz and creative improvisation, and from other genres. Orchid Ensemble performances are graceful, elegant musical conversations that span oceans and continents. Sponsored by Women of Lotus; IU East Asian Studies Center
