Thank you for a great Edible Lotus!
Thank you to everyone for a great 2015 Edible Lotus: Local Tastes for Global Arts! Our sold-out annual benefit event last Thursday night saw more than 160 guests sharing dinner, drinks, and lots of Lotus love at beautiful Deer Park Manor, under (thankfully) clear skies. With long-time Lotus fan Darryl Neher as our emcee/host (thanks, Darryl!), the evening’s highlights included gorgeous vocals by Kenyan trio Voice Tatu, an exclusive 2015 Festival preview presented by Executive Director Sunni Fass and veteran volunteer Paul Sturm, and a rousingly successful set of silent and live auctions punctuated by some heated bidding competition. Our guests helped Lotus raise funds to support key programs like the Lotus World Music & Arts Festival and Lotus Blossoms Educational Outreach — and we met our goals with flying colors thanks to your support!
Lotus is deeply grateful for the generosity of this year’s participating restaurant sponsors: Antolia, Bloomingfoods, Bloomington Brewing Company, BLU Boy Chocolates, Brown County Coffee, Cardinal Spirits, The Chocolate Moose, FARMBloomington, Finch’s Brasserie, Function Brewing, Indiana Memorial Union Catering, The Irish Lion, Lennie’s, Malibu Grill, One World Catering, Piccoli Dolci, Samira Restaurant, Trojan Horse, Upland Brewing Co. and The Uptown Cafe. Sincere appreciation also goes out to everyone who donated (or created) the beautiful auction items and experiences at the heart of the evening’s bidding activities. And of course, we would like to thank Michael and Joseph Fitzgerald and the entire staff of Deer Park Manor for the donation of event space and support.
Finally, no list of thank-yous would be complete without a huge round of applause for the many Lotus volunteers, Board members, and staff who made the evening possible. It takes so much time, dedication, and attention to detail to make Edible run smoothly, and we absolutely couldn’t do it without you. Thank you again for a beautiful, successful evening!
