Edible Lotus is a fundraiser guaranteed to satisfy the most adventurous Lotus lover. It’s a bite-sized Lotus experience — and an important way to support Lotus financially. All proceeds support programming of the Lotus Education & Arts Foundation
The event takes place at a new venue this year: Deer Park Manor. “We love being able to expand Edible Lotus in the beautiful spaces at Deer Park, inside and outside” says Kristin. “Look for a lot of interesting niches to explore.”
Edible Lotus showcases tapas, beverages, and desserts from 20+ of our town’s best restaurants and brew masters (listed below); it also features live performances and other diversions, exclusive Lotus merchandise, and select tastings from some of Bloomington’s celebrated culinary treasures.
- Bloomingfoods will be offering samples and stories from its renowned international cheese selection; Olive Leaf provides an opportunity to explore the esoteric world of olive oils and balsamics; the Chocolate Moose will have a tasting station featuring their yummy homemade and vegan ice cream (served alongside the Owlery’s vegan take on “buck-eyes” — “Owl Eyes”); and Local First will have a “Name That Brew!” station, where you can test your taste buds and guess which brew is which.
- Guests will have a chance to bid to take home some additional plunder, donated by innovative Bloomington artists and artisan businesses to the Edible Lotus Silent Auction. Jewelry, home wares, original artwork, unique experiences – all there to help you live la vida Lotus.
- Enter the Lotus Raffle for a chance to win 5 years’ worth of double Festival weekend passes. Raffle tickets are only $3 each, available through the Lotus office (call 812-336-6599). Raffle winners will be announced at the Edible Lotus Night Bazaar. Raffle rules here.
