Feel free to ask Aaron questions in the comments box or leave him a message. Please also consider making a donation to this artist, who makes his living from performing and needs our support. His donation information will be posted in the live chat boxes on Facebook and YouTube during the concert.

Aaron Jonah Lewis has been exploring traditional American music since his first lessons at the age of five with Kentucky native Robert Oppelt. His concerts take audiences on a journey through American old-time and folk music, with detours through ragtime and early jazz.

Aaron has won blue ribbons at the Appalachian String Band Festival in Clifftop, West Virginia, and at the Old Fiddlers Convention in Galax, Virginia, the oldest and largest fiddlers convention in the country. He spends most of his time teaching and touring as both a solo performer and as a member of The Corn Potato String Band and The Lovestruck Balladeers.

As a banjoist, Aaron explores the roots of old-time, bluegrass, ragtime, and jazz music through his newest recording, Mozart of the Banjo: The Joe Morley Project. This project is devoted to the music of the great English prodigy and virtuoso composer Joe Morley (1867-1937), who wrote a significant body of great banjo pieces in a technique that people today call classic fingerstyle.

Aaron was supposed to join Lotus for the 2020 Lotus Blossoms, our four-week intensive outreach program, with his group The Corn Potato String Band. While Lotus is disappointed he could not be here in person, we are thrilled to feature his music through a Lotus Live-Stream concert.

We hope to virtually see you there!
