Multilingual singer, songwriter, and producer Luciane Dome is part of a new generation of contemporary artists from Rio de Janeiro. She composes and performs poetry to themes of Black diaspora, feminism, and empowerment, and she weaves in musical influences as diverse as Afrobeat, Urban Jazz, Reggae, and Ijexá (a Brazilian rhythm originating in Carnival). Her music is a call to action – to dance, to sing, and to free your body.

This engagement of Luciane Dom is made possible in part through the Performing Arts Global Exchange program of Mid Atlantic Arts with support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Instituto Guimarães Rosa.
