The Lotus Dance Hall will feature bands who play culturally specific dance music, this year featuring bachata from the Dominican Republic and salsa. On Saturday afternoon, there will be workshops in the dance hall focusing on bachata and salsa, with guest instructors walking you through moves that you can use on the dance floor on Saturday night. Then, join Luciane Dom in a rhythm workshop, where the focus will be on the various rhythms found in Brazilian music influenced by the African diaspora. Using vocalizations and body percussion, participants will be able to learn several rhythms and techniques for self-expression.
