Education Gallery: Lotus Volunteer HQ Past, Present, and Future
This exhibit is a visual tribute to Lotus volunteers. Located in this year’s Volunteer Headquarters, it honors the legacy that these volunteers, all superheroes in their own right, have built over 30 years. Volunteer HQ – past, present, and future – will feature Lotus Volunteer T-shirts, badges, buttons, and photos.
Miller Gallery: Osogbo Nigeria Retrospective
Spearheaded on the hundredth birthday of legendary curator and artist Susanne Wenger, the OSOGBO Art & Heritage exhibition celebrates the indelible imprint and impact of the Osogbo School of Art on the international modern and contemporary art landscape over the last 63 years.
The collection is reflective of modern art techniques interpreted through materials and designs rooted within Osogbo Nigeria’s intense spirituality and culture. Batik, bead paintings, aluminum relief, acrylic and works on paper are included in the collection, which features progenitors of the movement Wenger, Prince Twins 77, Chief Jimoh Buraimoh, and Chief Nike Okundaye.
Also featured are works subsequent generations of artists such as Gift Orakpo, Ade Oyelami, Bayo Ogundele and new works by 25 year old Oladapo Agboola.
