Our closing concert begins with this year’s Lotus Dickey Artists, Ashlee Watkins & Andrew Small. They are award-winning singers, songwriters, and multi-instrumentalists with a soul-stirring sound that hearkens back to old-time radio broadcasts of the 30s and 40s. Our second performer, Luciane Dom, is a singer and songwriter, part of a new generation of contemporary artists from Rio de Janeiro. She brings poetry to themes of Black diaspora, feminism, empowerment, and other social reflections that impact the construction of her emotions. Her musical sound is influenced by Afrobeats, urban jazz, reggae, and Ijexá. Her music is sensual, danceable, and a great way to close out the festival.
